An Australian study has revealed that regular sunscreen use may decrease the signs of skin ageing.
The skin of regular sunscreen users showed signs of 24% less ageing than those who were not wearing sunscreen as regularly.
903 adults (under 55 years old) were included in the study. Following a period of 4.5 years, participants who put on sunscreen once per day showed signs of 24% less skin ageing. This was particularly noticeable on the back of their hands, a place which experiences a high volume of UV radiation. Researchers looked mainly for evidence of wrinkling and other texture changes.
