Qld Lags in School Sun Safety

Queensland has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world. Although not all Queensland schools are actually taking the full measures required to become sun safe. This is particulary concerning given a majority of damage to a person’s skin is done before the age of 18.

Only 39% of QLd schools provide adequete protection, where the national average is 49%. Victoria is a benchmark state with 90% of schools in the state committing to adequete sun safety practices.
