Australian UV Levels on the Rise

According to ‘Australian Medicine Online’, the International Journal of Biometeorology recently released data detailing that UV levels in Australia are steadily increasing.

The study in the International Journal of Biometeorology was produced by Dr Lilia Lemus-Deschamps of the Bureau of Meteorology and Ms Jen Makin of Cancer Council Victoria’s Centre for Behavioural Research in Cancer.

Data suggests that UV levels have risen anywhere between 2-6 percent per year over the past 20 years. With the majority of Australian’s enjoying an outdoor lifestyle, there are fears that the increasing UV levels could increase the risk of skin cancer to the Australian population. Read more here
