A recent survey commissioned by Melanoma Patients Australia (MPA) has revealed that 46% of Australians have never had a professional skin cancer screening.
With Australia having one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world, these results are concerning. The sad fact is that 2 in 3 Australians will develop some form of skin cancer before the age of 70.
With so many Australians being diagnosed with this cancer, more public awareness needs to be raised in regards to the benefits of regular skin cancer screenings.
On a positive note, of the 1232 Australians survey 98% were able to successfully identify the sun as the leading cause of skin cancer. Read More Here
